| BIO: Q Morgan-Kilner was born in England. He spent the first five years living 100 yards from a beach off the port of Puerta-galera in the Philipines with his parents and two sisters. In 1990 he caught a plane with family and moved to the sunny skies of London. He then spent the next twenty odd years in Shepherd Bush ,west London. He schooled at the local comprehensive and left in 2001. After a few years of friendly demarcation and exploration. He landed his first job at American Apparel, setting up and launching there first flagship store in soho. He was quick to learn and was taught many good and bad skills, not quite polished but you could say a bit of a ruff diamond.. As time passed a hunger grew which propelled him to have the courage to move on. This led him to his next step, or should I say bench… One afternoon after deciding to quit his job. Q, met the owner of a local retailer and in fact a newly branded retailer, one like no other. It oozed character, style, finesse a sense of market and a sense of community. This is what the world would know as Slammin Kicks but to what he would call his home. He spent five of the most memorable years of his life with the brand, marked as a part of London’s heritage and and a stamping point for a new chapter the store taught him a lot and found him new family that he will soon regard as a brother. The team closed the store in 2007 and it became a good memory to a lot of the trainer scene. As the door to SK closed another one opened. He was proposed a job at NikeiD the following week, where became senior design consultant and a highly consistent and valuable member in his new team. He spent 3 years with the brand ,travelled parts of the world, rubbed shoulders with people he would never imagined and gained by coincidence another extension to his family. Through his time till now he has learnt to stand strong when the wind is against him, embrace the sun when it is on him and never let go of something you love, “steer your reality but follow your dreams”. key skills towards his greater goal. He left at the end of 2009 and decided to follow the dream, to be continued… |
